The Zwilling J.A. Henckels Pro series kitchen steak knives are precision-forged from one solid piece of steel and have a precisely designed geometry. The 3-rivet design and continuous tang of the handle exude balance, as does the lightweight construction. The knife's parts are put together without gaps or seams. The blade is made of Friodur steel. Knives marked with Friodur are refined for better quality, using special ice-hardening. The heat treatment is carried out in four stages to over 1000ºC. It also helps to strengthen the molecular structure, resulting in a harder, sharper knife. The ice-hardening technique at -70°C improves corrosion resistance and rust protection. This procedure also provides excellent elasticity.
